It didn’t take long for Salesian to get another crack at league rival St. Mary’s.

A week after losing to St. Mary’s in the North Coast Section Division V championship, the Pride will meet the Panthers again on Tuesday in the second round of the CIF Open Division Northern regional playoffs.

The Pride (28-6) earned the trip following a 64-55  win over St. Ignatius Friday in the first round of the CIF tourney. The top-seeded Panthers defeated No. 8 Sacramento 46-32 in their first round game.

Mariya Moore put on a clinic in Friday’s first round. The Louisville-bound star guard scored 35 points and pulled down 7 rebounds in the win over St. Ignatius, according to The game was tied at the half and Salesian even trailed by two points in the third quarter before pulling ahead.

Zoe Correal added 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks for Salesian, Minyon moore had 10 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists and Kian McNair added 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists.

In boys basketball, El Cerrito’s season ended after falling to Archbishop Mitty 67-58 in the first round of the CIF Northern California Open Division playoffs.
