Richmond’s Catahoula Coffee Company was rated the Bay Area’s best coffee shop in an online poll this week.

The oft-touted artisan roaster at 12472 San Pablo Ave., which opened in 2008, was one of more than 100 shops considered in the Bay Area A-List’s Best of 2014 rankings.

Catahoula Coffee Company also won this category in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

The runner-up for Best Coffee Shop was Your Coffee Cups in Fremont. Other finalists included Steeltown Coffee & Tea in Pittsburg, Philz Coffee, and Napa Valley Coffee Roasting.

Bay Area A-List claims that more than 37,000 votes were cast over dozens of regional categories in its 2014 rankings. It wasn’t clear how many votes were cast solely in the Best Coffee Shop category.  Other categories included Best Live Music Venue, Best Local Blogger and even Best Pet Sitting.

On Wednesday, Catahoula’s owner Tim Manhart went on Facebook to playfully razz the runner-up.
