The El Cerrito boys basketball team is headed to its third North Coast Section Division III championship game in four years following a 70-59 win over visiting Campolindo Wednesday night.

The second-seeded Gauchos (28-3) face No. 1 seed Bishop O’Dowd (25-4) at Saint Mary’s College  Saturday at 3 p.m.

El Cerrito bounced back from a 6-2 deficit in the first quarter with Sayeed Pridgett, Aaron Banks and Anthony Sullen combining for 11 unanswered points. El Cerrito never trailed again, and even though Campolindo fought back to pull within eight points in the fourth, the Gauchos’ hot hands prevailed.

Tyrell Alcorn led the Gauchos with 20 points, Jovontae Carleton added 19, Sullen had 12 and Pridgett 9 points.

El Cerrito defeated Campolindo to make it to their third North Coast Section Division III final in four years.
