Reliving a remarkable moment in Salesian boys basketball history is always fun, particularly when you know the involved player is only a freshman.

Check out the great MaxPreps.com video below of a dramatic buzzer-beater on Feb. 20 that sent Salesian to the Tri County Athletic Tournament championship game.

With just 2 seconds on the clock, ninth-grader Marquel Johnson nailed a 22-foot shot that upset top-seeded El Cerrito.

The Pride, who were the No. 8 seed in the TCAL tourney, ended up losing the title game 62-46 to No. 3 St. Joseph Notre Dame.

However, Salesian’s successful season continues in the North Coast Section Division IV playoffs (see the tournament brackets below the video).

The Pride, who are the No. 3 seed in the NCS tournament, are set to host No. 6 Marin Catholic on Saturday in the second round. In their first round game on Wednesday, Salesian topped No. 14 Clear Lake 69-46.
