A gun-toting robber was thwarted by two brave ARCO gas station employees early Wednesday, and the Richmond Standard has video proof.

The foiled robbery occurred about 1:30 a.m. at the ARCO station’s convenience store, ampm, at 12890 San Bruno Ave., according to police and cashier Gagan Singh, 20.

Singh wasn’t on shift during the incident, but learned from his coworkers about the hooded man who stormed into the store with a gun and pointed it straight at a cashier. The cashier ended up grabbing the robber’s hand and twisting it. Then a second employee who was in another part of the store, Joseph Williams, grabbed the robber from behind, threw him to the ground and pinned him down while the cashier called police.

A customer then helped keep the crook on the ground until police arrived. The robbery suspect, identified as 50-year-old transient Michael Corbin, was booked for attempted armed robbery, police spokeswoman Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.
