A 38-year-old man was killed in a shooting in unincorporated North Richmond Thursday night.

The victim, whose name hasn’t been released, was shot multiple times in the 1600 block of Fourth Street about 10:30 p.m., said Jimmy Lee, spokesman for the Contra Costa County sheriff’s office.

After being taken by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center, the victim was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he reportedly died about 3:15 a.m. Friday.

No one else was hit by the gunfire, which struck a nearby home and car. The shooting remains under investigation, Lee said.

“There are no leads and no motive or suspects have been identified,” the spokesman said in a statement.
