Kennedy High’s new science wing halfway done


Workers were nearly halfway finished with renovations of Kennedy High School’s science wing as of Jan. 29.

That’s according to a progress report that will be presented to the West Contra Costa Unified School District Board of Education on Wednesday.

The $4.1 million renovation on Building 400, funded through the Measure J school bond, is expected to be completed Sept. 16 and is on schedule, officials said.

The modernization includes everything from roof work to insulation, drywall, plumbing and electrical. Construction began Sept. 16 of last year. Below are some pictures showing the ongoing construction:
